State Museum of Braunschweig (Braunschweigisches Landesmuseum)

The Braunschweigisches Landesmuseum is being restored. The State of Lower Saxony will invest 47.5 million euros to secure the future of this tradition-steeped history museum. The main venue, the Vieweghaus on Burgplatz, is expected to closed until 2027. Special exhibitions will take place in various different locations in the Brunswick area. For instance at the location of former monastery St. Aegidien, the opening of which is scheduled for December 2021, displaying a new permanent exhibition on Jewish history.

Moreover, the Braunschweigische Landesmuseum will open a new hands-on exhibit on Medieval Times in Brunswick at St. Ulrici-Brüdern in September 2021.
